Kicks Manifold Pressure Sensor Issue

My 2017 Nissan Kicks (gasoline engine, 154844 km) has the check engine light on, reduced engine power, poor response, and higher fuel consumption. I suspect a faulty manifold pressure sensor, possibly from a large vacuum leak. Any ideas?

I had similar symptoms on my 2014 Opel Astra. 'Manifold pressure sensor' measures pressure inside the intake manifold, important for air/fuel mixture. I had the check engine light, reduced power, and awful fuel economy. Did you check for hissing sounds that might indicate a vacuum leak?

Yes, I heard a faint hissing sound near the intake manifold. Considering your Astra, what was the diagnosis and resolution? Did you also suspect the manifold pressure sensor?

The hissing sound is a strong indicator. I also suspected the manifold pressure sensor, and that was the problem. Given the symptoms and potential vacuum leak, the sensor is probably malfunctioning due to incorrect pressure readings. I'd get a professional diagnosis to be certain.

I took my Kicks to a workshop. They confirmed a faulty manifold pressure sensor due to a significant vacuum leak, as suspected. The sensor was replaced, and the vacuum leak was repaired, costing 235€. The car is now performing optimally!
