Kicks temperature gauge issue

Hey, I'm having a weird issue with my 2016 Nissan Kicks with a gasoline engine. It's got about 224032 km on it. Recently, I've noticed the temperature gauge is acting up, showing incorrect readings. Plus, the check engine light keeps popping on. And the engine seems to take forever to warm up. Could this be a cooling grille problem, like maybe restricted airflow causing all this? Anyone else experienced something similar?

Interesting problem. I own a Kicks as well. I experienced similar symptoms: fluctuating temperature readings, check engine light, and prolonged warm-up times. Have you checked the relevant fuses? It is possible a defective fuse is causing the problem.

Thanks for the tip! I'll definitely check the fuses. But just out of curiosity, when you had this issue, was it also related to the cooling grille or some kind of thermal management problem? Or was it purely electrical?

In my case, the root cause was indeed a defective fuse responsible for the thermal management system. I strongly suggest a visit to a qualified workshop for a comprehensive system diagnosis. Replacing the fuse resolved the issue; however, further diagnostics should be performed to confirm the health of the engine cooling system.

Thanks a bunch for your help! It turned out you were right. I checked the fuses, and sure enough, one was blown. Replaced it, and everything seems to be back to normal. The temperature readings are accurate, the check engine light is off, and the engine warms up much faster now. Cost me 52€ for the fuse and a quick check-up. Appreciate the advice!
