Behind the dashboard panel, huh? Is that a massive job to get to? Any tips on where to start looking? I'm decent with a wrench, but I don't want to tear the whole ventilation system apart for nothing!

It's not a pleasant job, I won't lie. Accessing the flap motor requires dismantling parts of the dashboard. Given the error code and your symptoms, and if you're not comfortable tracing wiring and using a multimeter, I'd strongly advise consulting a workshop. It could save you a lot of time and potential further damage.

Cheers for the heads-up! I bit the bullet and took it to the shop. Turns out you were spot on – loose connection to the flap motor. They cleaned it up and resecured it. Bill came to 95€, which I'm happy to pay to have proper heat back. Thanks again for the pointer!

I had something similar happen in my Kicks. Check the cable and plug connection to the flap motor behind the dashboard panel. The climate control can act up if it's not getting a good signal.
