Kix Brake Light Error

Thanks for the suggestions. I checked the bulbs first, and they're fine. The brake pedal seems normal, no visible damage. Could a simple mistake during a previous repair, like accidentally disconnecting something, cause this?

Definitely. A user error is a likely cause. If the system detects a bad signal or a missing connection after a repair, it could throw an error. Check the switch connector itself, make sure it's fully seated and free from corrosion. Also, confirm the switch is properly adjusted. It might seem obvious, but sometimes these things are overlooked. Since it is not a worn part, it does not justify a visit to the workshop.

Thanks, you were right; it was a simple user error. I had accidentally dislodged the connector during maintenance. Re-seated it, and the issue is resolved. Repair cost: 0€.

Sounds like a classic brake light switch issue. Before you replace it, have you checked the brake pedal? Sometimes, the pedal can get bent or the rubber stopper that activates the switch can degrade. Also, are you sure the bulbs are good? I've seen similar symptoms caused by simple bulb failures. Did the error occur after any specific event, like heavy braking or rough road?
