Kizashi Audio System Goes Silent, Complete Sound Loss

My Kizashi audio system suddenly stopped working, no sound output at all. Volume control seems responsive and the display is working, but there is no audio from any source (radio, USB audio, auxiliary input). Checked all fuses and they look fine. Sound quality was perfect until yesterday, then complete silence. Has anyone experienced similar issues with their Kizashi audio connectivity? Looking for tips on what to check or repair experiences before taking it to a workshop. Would appreciate hearing about repair costs and what parts needed replacement in your cases.

As someone with moderate experience working on car electronics, I had a very similar issue with my Suzuki Swift from 2012, which shares components with the Kizashi. The radio silence problem started exactly like yours, complete sound system failure despite working displays and controls. After checking fuses and basic connections, I took it to a workshop where they diagnosed a defective bass speaker that had shorted, causing the amp to shut down as a protection measure. The repair cost was 280€, including parts and labor. The interesting part was that even though only one speaker was defective, it affected the entire sound system. Once replaced, the volume control and all audio sources worked perfectly again. Before suggesting specific solutions, could you share: What year is your Kizashi? Did you notice any sound distortion before the complete failure? Are there any error messages on the display? Does the system make any clicking sounds when adjusting volume? These details would help determine if your issue matches what I experienced with my car speakers. There might be simpler solutions depending on your specific situation.

Mileage: 132668 KM, last service was in February 2023 Thanks for sharing your detailed experience. Your repair costs sound reasonable. In my case, no error messages appear on the display, and I hear no clicking sounds when adjusting the volume control. The radio silence happened suddenly without any prior sound distortion or warning signs. The Bluetooth issue started around the same time, the system shows connected but produces no audio output. I checked multiple audio sources to confirm its not source-specific. I will get it checked at a workshop since your speaker theory makes sense. The complete sound system failure points to a similar underlying issue, especially given the age of my 2002 Kizashi. Would you recommend checking anything else before taking it in for repairs?

Thanks for those additional details. Since we experienced nearly identical issues, I can definitely help narrow things down. Given you mentioned the Bluetooth issue happening simultaneously with the total audio failure, this actually points more toward an amplifier problem rather than the speaker issue I initially suspected. In my case, when the amp failed on my Kizashi, it affected all audio sources exactly like yours, radio, Bluetooth, USB audio, everything went silent at once. Before heading to the workshop, try these quick checks I learned from my experience: 1. Disconnect the car battery for 10 minutes to reset the audio system 2. Check the amp fuse specifically, its separate from the main audio fuse 3. Listen for a very faint pop sound when turning the system on The repair cost for an amp replacement typically runs 350-450€ depending on the part availability. This is higher than my initial speaker repair, but its a more permanent solution if the amp is indeed the culprit. Since you mentioned no prior sound distortion and a sudden complete failure, plus the Bluetooth connectivity without audio output, these symptoms match perfectly with an amp failure rather than speaker damage. Would you mind testing these suggestions and reporting back what you find? This could save some diagnostic time at the workshop.

My 2002 Kizashi symptoms match exactly what you described. I tried all your suggested checks: 1. Battery disconnect/reset did not resolve the issue 2. Located and checked the separate amp fuse, its good 3. No pop sound when powering on the system Really helpful to know the typical repair costs. The 350-450€ range for amp replacement gives me a good baseline when discussing repairs with the workshop. The complete sound system failure affecting all sources, USB audio, auxiliary input and Bluetooth, definitely aligns with your amp diagnosis. Going to schedule the repair this week. The sound quality was perfect before this happened, so its clearly a sudden component failure rather than gradual deterioration. Will update once I get the final diagnosis and repair completed. Thanks for helping pinpoint the likely cause. Saved me time testing other components and gave me confidence in discussing the repair with technicians.
