Koleos Mixture Preparation Error
Summary of the thread
A 2010 Renault Koleos diesel is experiencing a "mixture preparation error," leading to engine power loss, rough running, jerking during acceleration, and occasional stalling. Possible causes include issues with the mass airflow sensor, air-fuel ratio, or defective injection valves/injectors. The recommended solution is to have the vehicle inspected by a professional, as the problem may require specialized repair, which was confirmed to be an injector issue.

Thanks for the tips! I haven't checked any of those yet. I'm not really a mechanic, so I don't know too much about those parts. Where exactly is the mass airflow sensor located, and how would I check it?

No worries! The mass airflow sensor is usually located in the intake duct after the air filter box. Visually, you're looking for a small sensor with a connector plugged into it. Honestly, given your symptoms, especially the stalling and error code, it might be more serious than a simple sensor issue. The error code points to an injection valve/injector defective. I ended up taking mine to a workshop, and they sorted it out. Might be worth getting it checked by a professional.

Okay, thanks a lot for the advice. I think I'll take it to a workshop then. Turns out it was indeed the injector, and the repair cost was around 515€. Appreciate the help!

Hey! I had a similar issue with my Koleos, though it sounds a bit worse than mine was. Reduced power and jerking are definitely not fun. Did you check anything simple like the spark plugs or maybe even the mass airflow sensor? It could also be something related to the air-fuel ratio. Has it had any recent work done on the intake manifold or maybe even the oxygen sensor?
