Koleos power steering fault

My 2017 Renault Koleos diesel has a power steering issue at 162359 km. The steering wheel vibrates, the handling is spongy, and the steering requires increased effort, sometimes failing altogether. The error memory stores a fault. Could this be a defective cable or plug connection?

Sounds familiar! I had a similar problem with my old Opel Insignia. The steering felt really weird, almost like driving through treacle. Have you checked the hydraulic fluid level? What about the pressure hose? They can cause similar symptoms if they're leaking or damaged.

Yep, error code was definitely stored! Turned out to be a faulty connection as well. Honestly, if it's throwing errors and the steering is that bad, get it checked by a professional. It might be a simple fix, but messing with steering racks is never a good idea if you're not 100% sure what you're doing.

Thanks! You were right. It was indeed a defective plug connection. Workshop fixed it for 95€. All good now.
