Koleos Power Window Failure After Battery Change

I've got a 2009 Renault Koleos with a gasoline engine. After replacing the battery, all the power windows stopped working. They were fine before! Now, none of them operate from any of the switches. I scanned the car and it's throwing an error related to the window regulator initialization. I've tried the usual window reset procedures I found online, but nothing seems to work. Has anyone experienced anything similar?

Summary of the thread

After replacing the battery in a 2009 Renault Koleos, all power windows stopped functioning, with an error indicating a window regulator initialization issue. The problem likely stems from the regulators losing their settings due to the battery disconnection. Attempts to reset the windows using standard procedures were unsuccessful. The suggested solution is to have the regulators reinitialized at a workshop using diagnostic tools, as this is a common issue with such vehicles.

Did this summary help you solve your problem?

I also have a Koleos, and I had a similar problem after my car battery died. I couldn't get the windows to work no matter what I tried. Did you disconnect the battery for a long period of time?

Yes, I did disconnect the battery completely. It was disconnected for a good few hours while I was cleaning the terminals. I've read that this can cause the window regulators to lose their settings. I'm just surprised the reset procedure isn't working. Did you manage to fix it yourself, or did you have to take it to a shop?

I attempted the reset procedure multiple times without success. Eventually, I had to take it to a workshop. They confirmed it was a window regulator initialization issue. They reinitialized the regulators using their diagnostic tools, and everything was working again. It's a common problem apparently.

Thanks for the info! I was hoping to avoid a trip to the shop, but it sounds like that's the only option. My local mechanic quoted me around 290€ for diagnostics and re-initialization, so I guess I'll bite the bullet. At least I know what to expect now.
