Kona AdBlue system error
Summary of the thread
A 2020 Hyundai Kona diesel experienced an AdBlue system error, preventing the engine from starting. The issue was suspected to be either an empty AdBlue tank or a defective output from the tank to the dosing unit. A similar case confirmed that a defective AdBlue output was the cause, and replacing it resolved the problem. The repair was successful, and the vehicle is now functioning properly.
Did this summary help you solve your problem?

Yes, the service light is on. I haven't checked the tank capacity in a while. I usually refill when the warning light comes on, but this time it seems different. Is it possible that the output from the tank to the dosing unit is defective, as I suspect? Did you have the same problem?

Yep, sounds like the exact same problem I had. The garage told me that the AdBlue output from the tank to the dosing unit was defective. They replaced it, and the error messages disappeared, and the car started again. Best to take it to a workshop to be sure though, wouldn't want to risk further damage.

Thanks so much for sharing! It's reassuring to know that someone else has encountered a similar issue. I took it to the workshop, and you were spot on. It was indeed a defective AdBlue output from the tank to the dosing unit. The repair cost me about 250€, but now everything is working perfectly again. Thanks again for your help!

Hey! I have a Kona as well, and that sounds familiar. Is your service light on? Could be a DEF fluid issue. Have you checked the tank capacity recently? How often do you usually refill?
