Kona diesel preheating lamp issue

Hi, I have a 2018 Hyundai Kona with a diesel engine. It has 172266 km on the clock. Recently, the preheating lamp doesn't switch off, and I found an error stored in the error memory. I suspect a defective glow plug. Anyone experienced something similar?

Summary of the thread

Hey! I had a similar issue with my Kona. Same symptoms – preheating light staying on, and the engine light popped up too. Was the engine running rough at all?

Yes, the engine does idle a bit rough sometimes, especially when it's cold. Did you also experience that? What was the fix?

Yep, rough idle was definitely part of it. Honestly, I wouldn't mess with the glow plugs yourself unless you really know what you're doing. Just take it to a workshop and have them check it out. It's probably just a faulty glow plug, but they can confirm and replace it properly.

Thanks for the insight! I took it to a workshop, and you were right – a defective glow plug was the culprit. Cost me 440€ to get it sorted, but at least it's fixed now.
