Kona electrical malfunctions and nav system failure

Alright, Hyundai Kona hybrid (2020) owners, I've got a head-scratcher. My Kona's throwing some weird errors at 159080 km. Getting an error in the memory, electrical malfunctions popping up all over, and the nav system's totally dead. Feels like a software glitch, like the control unit's brain farted. Anyone else seen this gremlin? 'Cause I'm pulling my hair out!

Summary of the thread

A Hyundai Kona hybrid owner is experiencing electrical malfunctions and a non-functional navigation system, suspecting a software glitch in the control unit. The issue arose unexpectedly, possibly after driving over a rough patch of road. A fellow owner suggests consulting a professional for a diagnostic check and recalibration, as these electrical issues can worsen if not addressed. The owner has taken the car to a shop, where a software bug was confirmed, and a reflash was quoted as the solution.

I also own a Kona. Your symptoms sound rather similar to a confounding issue I investigated some time ago. Did you notice whether the errors occurred after any specific event, such as a battery replacement or after a routine inspection? It could potentially shed light on the cause.

Hmm, good question. Nothing specific I can remember, just started happening out of the blue. Thinking back, maybe it was after that really rough patch of road last month? Could a pothole actually mess with the car's computer like that? What exactly was going on with your Kona when you had a similar issue?

Confirming your suspicions, the issues I described previously also presented themselves in a rather unprompted manner. A pothole affecting the ECU seems rather implausible, however, I would advise you to schedule an appointment with a qualified professional at your earliest convenience. These electrical gremlins can often escalate exponentially, and the cost of component repairs may become inhibitive, in comparison with a prompt resolution. A diagnostic check and recalibration might address the issue appropriately.

Thanks! That's the kick in the pants I needed. Dropped it off at the shop this morning. They're saying it's a software bug, just like we thought. Quoted 240€ for the reflash. Appreciate the advice!
