Kubistar Engine Misfire
Summary of the thread
The 2007 Nissan Kubistar is experiencing engine misfire issues, indicated by a check engine light and rough idling, with a noticeable loss of power. Initial checks on spark plugs and coils showed no issues, leading to suspicion of dirty fuel injectors. After professional diagnosis, it was confirmed that injector number 3 was malfunctioning, causing the misfire. Replacing the faulty injector resolved the problem, restoring smooth engine performance.

Injector spray pattern... interesting. How did you diagnose that? Did you pull them and have them tested professionally, or is there a DIY method I can try?

I initially tried some injector cleaner additive, but that was a waste of time. Eventually, I pulled the injectors and bench-tested them – you can get kits online for not too much. But honestly, unless you're comfortable messing with fuel lines, just take it to a workshop. Diagnosing injector issues without the proper gear can be a real headache.

Thanks for the advice! I bit the bullet and took it to a shop. Turns out, injector number 3 was toast, spraying fuel like a garden hose. New injector, labor, and diagnostic check came to 515€. Ouch! But she's running smooth as butter now. Cheers!

Sounds nasty. I had similar symptoms on my old Vauxhall Astra. Engine misfiring like crazy, rough idle, the whole shebang. Turned out to be the fuel injectors. Have you checked the injector spray pattern? A dodgy injector can cause all sorts of grief.
