Kubistar engine power loss

My 2008 Nissan Kubistar diesel is showing some worrying signs. At 176429 km, I'm getting higher fuel consumption and less engine power. The check engine light is on. Could cylinder pressure fluctuation be a side effect of another problem?

I also drive a Kubistar and had similar issues recently. Check the timing belt for wear. A crankshaft or turbocharger issue could also cause that. It's probably not just the cylinder.

Thanks for the advice. Could you say more about the crankshaft or turbocharger? What happened when you had the problem?

My timing was off, which reduced engine power. The car was shaking a lot. Honestly, I'd get it checked by a workshop. It could be lots of things.

I took it to a mechanic, and I was right about the side effect. It was a faulty sensor causing the fluctuation. The engine runs great now, and the diagnostic was free!
