Kubistar Injector Problems

Hi, I've got a 2008 Nissan Kubistar diesel with nearly 200k km on the clock that's giving me grief. It feels like it's running way too rich. I'm seeing reduced engine power, the check engine light is on, the engine runs rough, fuel consumption is up, and it's jerking when I accelerate. I suspect a defective injection valve or injector. Has anyone experienced similar issues? I've checked for obvious vacuum leaks around the intake manifold, but everything seems tight. Spark plugs seem okay, but I haven't dug too deep yet.

Sounds familiar. I had similar symptoms on my Kubistar. Have you checked the fuel injectors? A rich mixture could also damage the catalytic converter over time.

Thanks for the quick reply! When you say 'checked the fuel injectors,' what exactly did you do? Did you try cleaning them, or did you just replace them? Was the problem only the injectors?

I tried cleaning the fuel injectors, but it was a temporary fix. Eventually, I just replaced them all. It's probably best to get it properly diagnosed at a workshop though. They can check the spray pattern and flow rate of each injector.

Thanks. I booked it in for a diagnostic check. You were spot on - defective fuel injector which was causing a rich mixture, causing all the issues. All four injectors replaced and the ECU was reset and configured, all for 515€. Runs like new. Thanks again!
