Kuga Cutting Out
Summary of the thread
A 2011 Ford Kuga diesel was experiencing issues with cutting out shortly after starting, with an error stored in the memory. The problem was suspected to be related to the security system, specifically the immobilizer. It was confirmed that incorrect key programming was causing the immobilizer to activate, preventing the car from running properly. The issue was resolved by recoding the key, which restored normal operation.

Yeah, that's exactly it. Sometimes it will start just fine, other times, nothing. If it does start, it dies immediately. What was your solution?

My Kuga had almost identical symptoms. In my case, the key programming was incorrect. You should probably get it checked at a workshop.

Thanks. I took it to the workshop and they confirmed it was the key programming causing the immobilizer to kick in. Recoding cost me 45€. Now it is running as expected!

Sounds like an immobilizer fault. I had similar issues with my Kuga. Does the engine not start at all sometimes? It could be key programming or a faulty remote start. It's like the car doesn't recognize the key.
