Kuga fuel filter heater issue

I've got a 2008 Ford Kuga diesel with 73540 km. Recently, the engine power has been reduced, and it's idling rough. Getting error codes, too. Fuel consumption is also higher. Suspect the fuel filter heater. Could be the cable or plug connection. Anyone had this?

I had something similar with my Kuga, though it wasn't the same year. Reduced power, rough idle, and the engine just felt sluggish. Did you check the fuel lines for any kinks or blockages? It might be worth a quick look before diving into the heater itself. How's the cold start?

Thanks for the tip! I'll check the fuel lines. Cold start is pretty bad actually. Is that what you were experiencing?

Yep, terrible cold starts. Honestly, chasing it myself got me nowhere. Ended up at a shop, and they confirmed it was the fuel filter heater circuit. Best to get it diagnosed properly if you're not sure. It could save you time and money in the long run.

Appreciate the advice. Took it to the shop, and you were spot on - fuel filter heater. Cable was faulty. Cost me 95€ to sort. Runs like a dream now. Thanks!
