Thanks for the quick response. I haven't checked the spark plugs myself, no. I am not too familiar with logging the values and checking the injection cycles either, to be honest. What am I looking for there? I will get the exact error code when I get the chance. It was something related to "Cylinder Misfire" anyway...

Understood. If your diagnostic tool points towards cylinder misfires, the injection system becomes suspect, alongside the ignition system. A faulty injection valve, also referred to as "fuel injector", can cause such a misfire. But without advanced equipment and experience, these issues are difficult to reliably diagnose. With the potential of consequential damages, I would advise you to consult an experienced workshop.

Thanks for the detailed advice. I took it to the workshop and they confirmed a defective injector. Repair cost was around 515€. Runs smoothly again!

I am familiar with that issue, I own a Kuga too. When it comes to combustion misfires, rough running and a check engine light, the possibilities are manifold. I would start by asking: have you checked the spark plugs and ignition coils? And what is the exact error code you are getting? Have you logged the values with a diagnostic tool in order to check the injection cycles?
