Thanks for the quick reply! No, I haven't done vehicle diagnostics yet. Just wanted to get a feel if this is a common Kuga issue before I potentially waste money on an expensive diagnosis. Is there any easy way to check the cable connection myself, or is that something best left to a professional?

I understand your reluctance to spend money unnecessarily, believe me! While there might be a way to visually inspect the cable, messing with steering wheel wiring, especially in a hybrid, can be risky because of the airbags and other systems. If you're not experienced with automotive electrics, it's really best left to a workshop. They can properly diagnose it and confirm the cable issue before replacing anything. For 95€, you can be sure it's fixed properly.

Thanks again for your help. I took it to the workshop, and you were right, it was indeed a defective cable connection in the steering wheel. Repair cost was 95€. Everything is working fine again now!

Sounds like a connectivity problem, alright. The steering wheel controls rely on a control module and various sensors. When they go haywire, you get those errors. A defective cable is a likely culprit given the symptoms. Have you had any vehicle diagnostics done? It could also be a software glitch, but a cable issue is more probable, especially with steering controls.
