Kuga Transmission Oil Pressure Sensor Fault
Summary of the thread
A 2010 Ford Kuga diesel is experiencing a transmission oil pressure sensor fault, indicated by the MIL light, error code, gearbox emergency mode, unclean shifts, slipping, and grinding noises. The initial suspicion was a low gearbox oil level, but after checking, the oil level was fine. The issue was ultimately traced to a faulty oil pressure sensor, which was replaced at a workshop for 365€.

Thanks. Regarding the oil level check on your Astra, was it significantly low, and did topping it up resolve the issue temporarily or permanently? I suspect the sensor but I want to rule out simple causes.

It was significantly low. Topping it up helped for a while, but the underlying leak meant I eventually had to get a proper fix at the workshop. They replaced a seal, and while at it the sensor too. I would check the level, and go to the workshop if it's not that.

Appreciate the advice. I had the oil level checked. It was fine. I took it to the workshop, and as suspected, it was the oil pressure sensor. Repair came to 365€. Thanks for pointing me toward the likely cause.

Sounds familiar. I had similar symptoms on my old Vauxhall Astra. Engine light on, gearbox acting up. First thing I'd check is the oil level. Is it low? Otherwise it may be the oil sensor itself. Had to replace mine
