Lacetti excessive fuel delivery
Summary of the thread
A 2006 Chevrolet Lacetti was experiencing excessive fuel delivery, leading to a drop in power, rough running, increased fuel consumption, and jerking during acceleration. Despite changing the spark plugs and air filter, the problem persisted. A faulty injector was identified as the cause, and replacing it resolved the issue, restoring the vehicle's performance.

Thanks for the quick reply! I haven't scanned it myself, no. The mileage is at 194925 km. How would I check the air-fuel ratio? Is that something I can do myself, or do I need special equipment?

Given the mileage and your description, a defective injection valve/injector is a plausible explanation. Without diagnostic tools to measure the air-fuel ratio, accurate troubleshooting is difficult. I suggest consulting a workshop for a proper diagnosis.

Thanks a bunch! I took it to the shop, and you were right – it was a faulty injector. Cost me 515€ to get it replaced, but now it's running perfectly again. Really appreciate the advice!

Excessive fuel delivery can indeed cause those symptoms. Has the check engine light been diagnosed with an OBDII scanner? What are the reported air-fuel ratio values at idle and under load? Also, what is the mileage?
