Lacetti water sensor fault
Summary of the thread
A 2007 Chevrolet Lacetti diesel is experiencing an intermittent check engine light, stored error code, and occasional rough running, suspected to be due to a water sensor malfunction. Possible causes include a defective cable or plug, with a suggestion to inspect the sensor's wiring harness for damage or corrosion, particularly at the plug connection. A workshop check is recommended if the issue persists.

Thanks for the input. Could you say more about where I should look for damage or corrosion on the wiring harness? Was it near the sensor or further along?

For me, the corrosion was right at the plug connecting to the sensor. Inspect that area closely, it's a common failure point. But given your symptoms, a workshop check might be best. I eventually had to.

I appreciate the advice. I'll inspect the plug and wiring as you suggested. I suspect a workshop visit is inevitable. The estimated repair cost is around 95€. Thanks for sharing your experience; it's reassuring to know I'm not alone.

I had a similar problem with my old Opel Astra, though not exactly a water sensor, but another sensor issue. The symptoms sound very familiar. Have you checked the sensor's wiring harness for damage or corrosion? That was the cause for me.
