Lafesta crankshaft camshaft reference error

Hmm, interesting! The error code was pretty vague, just mentioned the crankshaft to camshaft reference value being off. It didn't specifically point to either sensor. So, you're thinking it could be the cam sensor instead? What exactly happened when yours went bad?

Yeah, in my case, the code was vague too, but it ended up being the cam sensor after some trial and error. The car would barely run, and the fuel consumption was insane. Honestly, if you're not sure, I'd probably take it to a trusted workshop. They can properly diagnose which sensor is the culprit before you start throwing parts at it. Could save you some serious coin and headache.

Thanks a bunch for the insight! I was leaning towards the crank sensor at first, but now I'm definitely going to have a workshop take a look at both the crank and cam sensors. Turns out it was the crank sensor indeed! Cost me 340€ for the repair. Lesson learned: always check both sensors when there's a reference value error. Thanks again!

Whoa, sounds frustrating! I had something similar happen on my Nissan Lafesta, though I can't remember the exact year. Engine light, sluggish response, felt like the car was choking. I think it might be the cam sensor and not so much the crank sensor. That thing caused chaos with my fuel economy too! Did the error code specifically mention the crank sensor, or just the reference value mismatch?
