Lafesta High Fuel Consumption Rough Idle
Summary of the thread
A 2013 Nissan Lafesta experienced increased fuel consumption and difficulty starting, particularly when cold. Initial suspicions pointed to a defective throttle valve, but cleaning the air intake and throttle body did not resolve the issue. Further investigation suggested a faulty accelerator pedal module, which was confirmed by a mechanic and replaced, resolving the problem.
Did this summary help you solve your problem?

Thanks for the input! Engine idle seems a bit rough, and there's a slight delay in throttle response. What was the cause in your case with the Astra, and what did you end up doing to fix it?

Turns out, the Astra had a faulty throttle position sensor. I tried cleaning everything first, like you, but it didn't solve it. Eventually, I had to take it to a workshop. They diagnosed it pretty quickly.

Appreciate the info! Based on your experience and some further digging, I took the Lafesta to a mechanic. They confirmed it was the accelerator pedal module. Got it replaced for 205€. Seems to have solved the problem! Thanks again!

Hmm, sounds familiar. I had similar issues with my old Opel Astra, though it was a diesel. Higher fuel consumption and poor starting were the main symptoms. Did you check for any unusual engine idle or throttle response?
