Lafesta Power Window Failure
Summary of the thread
A 2010 Nissan Lafesta owner experienced a complete failure of the power windows, suspecting the power window switch as the cause. Initial diagnostics showed an error, and suggestions included checking the window motor fuse, which could cause the system to be completely unresponsive. After consulting a mechanic, the issue was identified as a defective window regulator, which was repaired for 200€.

Thanks, I hadn't thought of a fuse problem. The window control has no response, no sound or movement. Would a blown fuse cause it to be completely dead?

Yeah, happened exactly like that on my Peugeot, total silence. If the fuse isn't the issue, and you're getting error codes, it's probably something bigger like the regulator or the motor. Unless you're good with car electrics, I'd take it to a workshop.

I took your advice and saw a mechanic. They confirmed it was likely a defective window regulator. The repair was 200€, including parts and labor. Thanks again for the help.

Yo, that sucks! Had a similar drama with my old Peugeot 307. Windows just gave up. Have you checked the window motor fuse? Sometimes it's a simple fix before you tear apart the door panel. Is the window control completely dead, or does it make any noise at all?
