Lafesta start stop malfunction

I'm having a nightmare with my 2017 Nissan Lafesta (gasoline engine). The start-stop system has completely given up. I'm getting an error stored, the engine just shuts off randomly, and the warning light is on. It seems like it could be a battery issue – maybe it's heavily discharged or defective? Has anyone else experienced this?

I've got a Lafesta as well, and I actually had a similar issue with the start-stop a while back. Was the battery replaced recently, or is it the original one? How many kilometers has the car done?

The battery hasn't been replaced, so it's the original one. The car has done 154369 km. Did your engine shut off too, when the start-stop malfunctioned? Was the error memory showing the same?

Yep, sounds very familiar! The engine shutting off is a classic symptom when the battery is on its way out and messing with the start-stop system. I would suggest getting the battery checked professionally; it could save you from getting stranded. It's highly probable that a new battery will fix it, but better to be sure.

Thanks so much for confirming! I was dreading some crazy electrical fault. I'll get the battery checked out at the workshop ASAP. Hopefully, it's just that and not something more sinister, and hopefully the repair won't be more than 290€. Thanks again for your help!
