I did use a generic OBD2 scanner, but it only showed a general speed signal fault. Is there a more specific scanner that can pinpoint the exact problem with the ABS control unit? I'm concerned about replacing parts without knowing for sure.

A generic OBD2 scanner may not provide the necessary detail. The 'speed signal fault' likely relates to an inability to accurately determine wheel speed, which the ABS module relies on. Based on your description and the fault code, it is highly probable the control unit is indeed defective. I advise consulting with a qualified workshop for a thorough diagnostic assessment.

I took it to a Renault specialist, and they confirmed it was the ABS control unit. It cost me about 1000€ to replace, but everything is working perfectly now. The ABS light is gone, and the traction control is back to normal. Turns out the high mileage (194879 km) probably contributed to the unit's failure. Appreciate the advice!

Given the symptoms you describe, a defective ABS control unit is a plausible explanation. Do you have access to a diagnostic tool to read any stored fault codes? That would help confirm the source of the malfunction.
