Thanks for the tip! Where exactly is the crash sensor located? And is there a common location where the cables might be damaged?

The crash sensor is typically located behind the front bumper or near the radiator support. As for common damage locations, check any areas where the wiring harness is routed close to moving parts or sharp edges. Corrosion in connectors is also a frequent culprit, especially in older vehicles.

Thanks a lot! I took it to the workshop. You were right, it was a bad connector. Repair cost 95€. Now everything is working fine again!

I drove my Laguna through a pothole some time ago and the light came on. It went out in the meantime, only to come back on when my son sat in the back seat.

It's possible that the impact from the pothole or the weight on the seat affected a loose connection or sensor. I recommend checking the wiring and connectors under the rear seats, as well as the seat occupancy sensor. Ensure everything is securely connected. If the issue persists, it might be best to have a professional inspect it, as airbag system faults can be safety-critical. Let me know how it goes or if you have any other questions!

Greetings. The symptoms you describe strongly suggest an issue within the airbag system's circuit. Given the car's age, a faulty connection is a probable cause. Have you inspected the wiring and connectors beneath the seats, specifically those leading to the side airbags and the crash sensor in the front?
