Laguna battery draining

Experiencing a heavy battery discharge with my 2009 Renault Laguna diesel. Getting an error message, weak lights, and a starting issue. The car has 177260 km. Could it be a faulty battery sensor draining power?

I had a similar issue with my Laguna. Have you checked the battery terminals for corrosion or loose connections? Also, how old is the battery itself? A failing battery can cause all sorts of electrical gremlins.

Terminals look clean, and I tightened them. The battery is about three years old. If it is the battery sensor could it be losing pressure over time?

If the terminals are clean and the battery is relatively new, it does sound like a sensor issue. I wouldn't mess with the electrical system too much myself. I'd suggest taking it to a workshop; they have the proper diagnostic tools to pinpoint the problem. In my case, it was indeed a faulty sensor that was constantly draining the battery.

Appreciate the confirmation. I suspected it might be beyond my capabilities. I will schedule an appointment with a workshop to have the battery sensor checked. The repair cost was 315€. Thank you for sharing your experience!
