Laguna brake booster pressure sensor failure
Summary of the thread
A 2007 Renault Laguna owner is experiencing a brake booster pressure sensor failure, leading to a flashing speedometer error and weak braking. The issue is suspected to be caused by improper brake bleeding, potentially introducing air into the hydraulic system and affecting sensor functionality. A suggested solution is to have the brake system professionally inspected and bled, which was confirmed to resolve the issue after a workshop visit.

Thanks for the reply! No work done recently, that's what's so strange. It just started happening out of the blue. But before I bought it, I have a feeling that the brake system may have been bled incorrectly. Can a bad brake bleed really mess with the pressure sensor like that?

Indeed, an improper bleeding procedure can introduce air into the hydraulic brake system. This compromises the pressure readings and sensor functionality. Although I am not a mechanic, I would recommend that you bring the car to a trusted workshop to have the brake system professionally inspected and bled. This should resolve your issue. Best of luck.

You were spot on! Took it to a workshop, and they confirmed the brakes were bled poorly in the past, causing the sensor to go haywire. Cost me 90€ to get it sorted, new sensor and a proper bleed. Thanks a million for the advice!

Good day. I understand your frustration. I experienced a similar issue with my 2012 Opel Insignia, also a diesel. An error message was displayed, and the braking performance was noticeably diminished. The diagnostic pointed towards a brake pressure issue. Did you recently have any work done on the braking system?
