Laguna Central Locking Failure

I'm having complete central locking failure on my 2002 Renault Laguna with a gasoline engine. Doors won't lock/unlock with the fob or manually. Diagnostics reports an error. Could it be a defective cable or plug connection? Anyone else experienced this?

I had a similar problem with my old Opel Astra. Did the car alarm still function, or is that also affected? Could be more than just wiring. Key fob battery isn't the problem, right?

Thanks! The car alarm is also non-functional. I replaced the key fob battery last week. Does your diagnosis remain the same? Could a faulty locking mechanism cause both to fail?

With the alarm not working, it sounds like more than just the key fob or a single door lock actuator. When mine went, it was the control unit itself. Given the error code and symptoms, take it to a workshop. They can properly diagnose it. I ended up paying a similar amount to your repair cost, so brace yourself.

Thanks! A trip to the workshop is unavoidable. The mechanic confirmed the defective cable or plug connection, the repair came in at 95€.
