Laguna Defrost Air Distribution Flap Error

I'm experiencing a perplexing issue with my 2003 Renault Laguna diesel. The heating output seems unusually low, and a diagnostic inspection shows an error related to the defrost air distribution flap. I suspect a defective cable or plug connection to the flap motor. Has anyone encountered this before? The car has 152769 km on the clock.

I had a similar problem with my Laguna. The low heat output and error code point to the air distribution flap indeed. Have you checked the blower motor and if the air circulation works? Maybe a dashboard panel removal can help. Is the fault happening all the time, or occasionally?

Thank you for your input. I have not yet examined the blower motor directly, but I did verify that the air circulation seems to be functioning, as there is a noticeable difference when toggling it. Can you elaborate on your experience with the dashboard panel? I am not familiar with disassembling it and am afraid I might damage it.

I had the same symptoms – error and reduced heating. I am not comfortable enough to dismantle the dashboard either, and after some research online, I realised that I would risk damaging the panel. I ended up going to a workshop. After diagnostic, they fixed it for around 95€.

I appreciate you sharing your experience. Based on what you've said, it seems prudent to consult a professional. I'll take it to a workshop and hope for a similar resolution and cost. Many thanks!
