Laguna mirror heating issue

Hi, I'm having an issue with my 2006 Renault Laguna (gasoline engine). The mirror heating isn't working on either side. I've checked the fuses, and they seem fine. The error memory shows a fault related to the mirror heating circuit. I suspect it's a faulty cable or plug connection. Has anyone else experienced this?

I had something similar happen on my Laguna. Not sure about the year, but it sounds like the same problem. At first, I thought maybe it was just a winter thing, but even on milder days, they wouldn't heat up. Did you try wiggling the wires going into the mirror housing? Sometimes that can temporarily fix a loose connection, like kicking an old TV to get a picture.

Thanks for the tip! I haven't tried wiggling the wires yet. Where exactly should I be looking for the connection? Is it easily accessible, or do I need to take the mirror apart?

Yeah, I wouldn't go ripping the mirror apart just yet. The connection is usually behind the mirror glass itself. You can carefully pop the mirror out – there are videos online showing how to do it without breaking anything. Honestly, though, after messing with it for a while, I gave up and took it to a shop. They diagnosed a broken wire inside the mirror assembly and replaced the whole thing. Saved me a lot of frustration.

Okay, that's helpful. Sounds like I'm headed for the workshop. I'll try checking the connection first, but I'm not holding my breath. Thanks for sharing your experience!
