Laguna solar sensor fault
Summary of the thread
A 2009 Renault Laguna is experiencing a solar sensor fault, leading to low heating output. The issue might be due to a bad cable, plug, or possibly the sensor itself needing calibration. While connections have been checked, the sensor hasn't been directly tested due to a lack of tools. It is suggested to have the sensor professionally checked, as the fault could be due to the sensor sending incorrect data.

Thanks! I only checked the connections. I haven't tested the sensor directly, as I lack the tools. If the sensor is faulty, can I diagnose it without special equipment, or should I see a professional?

Honestly, without proper diagnostic tools, it's tough to be 100% sure. With my Astra, I initially suspected the connections too. Turned out the sensor itself was sending garbage data. Given the cost isn't crippling, around 95€, maybe consider a workshop?

Thanks! That's what I thought, too. I'll take it to a workshop and have the sensor checked out. The error memory points me in this direction, so it may be a faulty sensor. I appreciate the help!

Interesting. I had a similar temperature sensor fault on my 2014 Opel Astra. Heating was all over the place. Did you check the sensor itself, or just the connections? The sensor fault could be triggered if the sensor values are out of the expected range. Is the error intermittent or constant?
