Laguna steering column fault

My 2012 Renault Laguna (gasoline engine) has an electrically adjustable steering column that's stopped working. There's a fault in the error memory, and it won't adjust at all. I think it might be a bad cable or plug. Has anyone else had this?

Sounds like a headache! Have you checked the fuses? It's always worth checking the simple things first.

Yes, the fuses are fine. Could it be a relay issue? Or is there a common weak point in the Laguna's steering column electrics?

Relay is possible, but with those symptoms and the fuses being okay, I'd guess a wiring issue or a dead motor in the column. Electricity can be tricky, sometimes it's best to let a professional have a look.

Your advice was spot on! It was a corroded connector. A quick repair and 95€ later, the steering column works again. Thanks for the help!
