Thanks for sharing your experience! My Lancer has 69432 KM on the clock, and I had its latest service about 2 months ago. Yeah, actually I did notice some flickering in the interior lights a few days before everything went dark. Your Lancer issue sounds pretty similar to what I'm experiencing. Good to know it might just be a wiring problem and not something more serious. The repair cost sounds reasonable too. Did you have any issues after the fix? I might take it to my mechanic tomorrow to check those connections you mentioned.

Hey again! Since you mentioned the flickering and your mileage, it definitely sounds like the same issue I had. After my repair, everything worked perfectly fine, no problems at all for over a year now. Just make sure your mechanic thoroughly checks all the connections in the overhead console area. In my case, some moisture had gotten in there over the years and caused the corrosion. One thing I forgot to mention earlier, before taking it to the mechanic, I actually tried checking the fuses myself (the ones under the dashboard), but that wasn't the problem. So don't waste your time with that like I did! Also, since your Lancer had a service recently, maybe mention that to your mechanic. Sometimes these electrical issues can start showing up if something was accidentally knocked loose during routine maintenance. Let me know how it goes at the mechanic! And yeah, the repair cost should be similar since it's pretty much the same problem I had in my Lancer. Fingers crossed it's just those pesky wires!

Thanks so much for all the detailed info! That's super helpful, especially the tip about not wasting time checking the fuses. I'll definitely mention the recent service to my mechanic and ask them to focus on that overhead console area. It's actually really reassuring to hear that your fix has lasted over a year without any issues. I've got an appointment scheduled for tomorrow morning, and I'll make sure to tell them about the moisture/corrosion possibility you mentioned. Really appreciate you taking the time to share your experience, it's made me feel a lot better about the whole situation. I'll update you once I get it checked out!

Hey there! I had a similar issue with my 2012 Mitsubishi Lancer Diesel last year. The interior light problem turned out to be causing electrical issues with other systems too. My trusted mechanic found a faulty wiring connection in the overhead console that was affecting multiple circuits. The repair involved replacing some corroded wires and a blown fuse, cost me around 85€ total. What's your Lancer's mileage? Also, did you notice any flickering before everything stopped working? This info could help determine if you're dealing with the same problem I had. Hope this helps! Let me know if you need more details.
