Yeah that's exactly what happened to mine! Thanks for sharing your experience, it's really helpful to know I'm not alone with this issue. Sounds like we had pretty much identical symptoms. Did you remember roughly how much you ended up paying for the whole repair job? Also, has everything been running smoothly since they fixed it, or have you noticed any other quirks popping up?

Hey again! Yeah, of course I'll share the costs, I paid exactly 155.00 € to get that cable connection sorted out. Really glad I could help point you in the right direction! Since getting it fixed at the mechanic's, the electric power steering has been working perfectly, no more error signals or any of those scary steering wheel shakes. The ABS is back to normal too. Haven't noticed any other issues popping up since then, honestly. The car's been running like a charm. It's such a relief when these things turn out to be relatively straightforward fixes, right? Sometimes with Land Rovers you worry it's going to be something major, but this time we both got lucky with it just being a dodgy connection. Keep us posted on how your repair goes! Always good to share these experiences with other Discovery owners.

Thanks for all the info! Just got back from the mechanic and wanted to update you. You were spot on, it was indeed a connection issue. The mechanic found some corrosion in the wiring harness near the power steering module. Cost me a bit more than yours, around 200, but that included a full diagnostic check. The funny part was watching the mechanic's face when he first saw the problem. He kept saying how common this issue is with these models, but most people assume it's something way more serious. Took him about two hours to fix everything up, and wow, what a difference! The steering's smooth as butter now, and all those warning lights have disappeared. Really appreciate your help in pointing me in the right direction. Saved me from stressing too much about it. Finally feel confident driving my Disco again without worrying about the steering giving up on me!

Hey there! I had a similar issue with my 2014 Land Rover Range Rover Sport TDV6. The symptoms you're describing sound exactly like what I experienced last month, steering wheel vibration and complete power steering failure, along with the ABS acting up. In my case, it turned out to be a faulty cable connection at the power steering control module. The connector had corroded and wasn't making proper contact. The mechanic cleaned the connections, replaced the damaged wiring harness section, and secured the plug properly. It wasn't a major repair in terms of parts, but it required some diagnostic time to pinpoint the exact issue. While it was nerve-wracking to drive with these symptoms, the fix itself wasn't as serious as I initially feared. Just make sure you get it checked soon, driving without power steering and ABS isn't safe. Hope this helps with your situation.
