Land Rover Discovery: Multiple Warning Lights Mystery

Thanks for sharing your experience! Mine's at 67457 KM since my last service, and I haven't noticed any performance issues or rough idling actually. The engine runs pretty smooth except for these warning lights popping up. That's reassuring to hear it might just be the Ad-Blue. I was worried it could be something more serious with the DPF system. Did your mechanic mention how often we should ideally check the Ad-Blue levels? I've honestly been a bit lazy about keeping track of it. Think I'll get it checked out at the workshop this week. The price you mentioned sounds reasonable, way better than dealing with potential DPF issues down the line!

Hey again! Yeah, after dealing with this on my Range Rover Sport, I've become pretty familiar with these Ad-Blue quirks. Mine's got about 72K KM now, and I've learned to keep a closer eye on the levels. Since your engine's running smooth without performance issues, I'm even more convinced it's just the Ad-Blue. My mechanic actually gave me a good tip, he said we should check the Ad-Blue levels every 5000-6000 KM or so. I've started doing it during my regular fuel stops, just making it part of my routine, you know? After my experience, I actually keep a small container of Ad-Blue in my garage now. It's come in handy a couple of times! But yeah, definitely get it checked out at the workshop. The warning lights should clear up once they top it up and reset the system. One other thing my mechanic mentioned, these JLR diesels typically use more Ad-Blue during highway driving, so if you do lots of long trips, you might want to check it more frequently. Just something to keep in mind! Let me know how it goes at the workshop! Always good to compare notes with fellow Land Rover owners.

Thanks so much for all the detailed advice! That's super helpful about checking the Ad-Blue every 5000-6000 KM, definitely going to start doing that. Can't believe I didn't think about keeping a spare container in the garage either, that's such a smart idea! Just booked the car in for tomorrow morning actually. You've really put my mind at ease about this. I do quite a bit of highway driving for work, so that explains why I might be going through the Ad-Blue faster than expected. Will definitely keep a closer eye on it from now on. Really appreciate you taking the time to share your experience. It's always good to hear from someone who's dealt with the same issue. I'll update you after the workshop visit, but feeling much more confident now that it's just an Ad-Blue issue rather than something more serious with the DPF. Cheers for all the help!

Hi there! I have some experience with diesels and went through something very similar with my 2016 Range Rover Sport. Those warning lights can be scary, right? Had the exact same symptoms, engine light, DPF warnings, the works. Turned out my Ad-Blue was completely empty. Got it fixed at my regular workshop for about 65 Euro, they topped up the Ad-Blue and reset the system. Was back on the road in no time. Since you've got a Discovery from roughly the same era, it's likely the same issue. These JLR diesels are pretty sensitive about their Ad-Blue levels. Quick question though: Have you noticed any loss in performance or rough idling? Just want to make sure there isn't anything else going on. Also, when was your last DPF regen cycle? Let me know and I can share more details about what my mechanic did!
