LandCruiser air suspension issue
Summary of the thread
A 2002 Toyota LandCruiser with a diesel engine and low mileage is experiencing air suspension issues, including failure to lift, leaning, and error messages on the dashboard. The problem was identified as a defective air suspension bellows valve. The suggested solution was to have a specialist inspect the system due to potential leaks, a faulty valve block, or a struggling compressor. Ultimately, the issue was resolved by replacing the defective valve at a repair shop.

Good point! I haven't listened with the engine off, but the compressor kicks in more than usual. If it's just a leak, is it a DIY job, or should I take it to a shop? I'm fairly handy, but air suspension is new to me.

If the compressor is running overtime, you're getting error codes, and it's leaning, it's likely more than a small leak. Considering the cost of parts, the dangers of a pressurized system, and that error code, I'd get it looked at by a specialist. It could be a faulty valve block or a struggling compressor. Save yourself the headache and potential damage. It'll be worth it.

I took it to the shop. The suspension air bag valve was indeed defective. Cost me 590€, but it's riding smoothly again. Thanks for the advice!

I had a similar problem with my LandCruiser, though it wasn't the valve initially. The air springs are known for leaks, which can cause leaning and error codes. Have you checked the air lines and bellows for damage or hissing? You can sometimes hear a leak with the engine off. Is the compressor running excessively to compensate?
