LandCruiser Diesel Overheating

Has anyone experienced overheating issues with their 2021 Toyota LandCruiser diesel? Mine has 79198 km and takes longer than usual to reach operating temperature. I suspect the thermostat cooling circuit motor.

Sounds familiar. I had similar overheating issues with my 2018 Audi Q7. It was also slow to warm up. Was the thermostat the culprit? Have you checked the coolant level first?

Coolant levels are normal, and there are no signs of leaks. You mentioned the thermostat in your Audi. Was it a simple fix or something more involved?

In my case, it was indeed the thermostat, or more precisely, the map thermostat. If you've ruled out coolant leaks, a defective thermostat is likely the culprit. I suggest getting it checked out by a workshop.

Thanks. Confirmed it was the map thermostat. Repair ran about 350€. All good now.
