LandCruiser engine misfires and jerking
Summary of the thread
A 2013 Toyota LandCruiser with 116,516 km was experiencing engine misfires, jerking during acceleration, and reduced power, accompanied by a check engine light. The initial suspicion was combustion misfires, potentially due to spark plugs or fuel injectors. After consulting a workshop, the issue was identified as a defective fuel injector, which was replaced along with the injection valve, resolving the problem.

Thanks for the quick reply! Yes, the throttle response is definitely affected. What makes you think it could be the spark plugs? Is there anything else that might be the reason for this?

Spark plugs are easy to check first. But a cylinder misfire with all those symptoms? Honestly, that sounds like it could be a fuel injector issue. Could even be a defective valve. I think you should let a workshop take a look. Keep us posted!

Thanks a lot for your advice! I took it to a workshop, and it turned out to be a defective fuel injector, as you suspected. They replaced it, along with the injection valve. Total cost was 515€. The engine runs smoothly again.

Whoa, that sounds rough! Check engine light plus jerking? I bet it feels like you're driving a bucking bronco. Is your throttle response also off? Could be anything, spark plugs maybe?
