LandCruiser Engine Stalling Idle Reduced Power
Summary of the thread
A 2020 Toyota LandCruiser experienced engine stalling at idle, reduced power, and a check engine light after a fuel filter change. The initial suspicion was a defective fuel pressure regulator. After further discussion, it was suggested to check the fuel pressure sensor and connections. Ultimately, a professional diagnosis confirmed the issue was with the fuel pressure regulator, which was resolved at a cost of 45€.

Thanks for the quick reply. Where exactly is the fuel pressure sensor located? And is there a way to test if it's faulty before replacing it? I'm trying to narrow down the possibilities.

It's usually on the fuel rail, but since you just changed the filter, double-check all the connections there first. Make sure everything is seated properly. Otherwise, testing the sensor properly requires specific tools like a multimeter and the vehicle's service manual to check voltage readings, so if you are not equipped or trained, I recommend taking your car to the workshop for professional diagnosis. It is like trying to perform surgery with kitchen utensils!

Appreciate the help! I followed your advice and had the car checked at the workshop. Turns out, it was indeed the fuel pressure regulator. It cost me 45€ to get it sorted. Thanks again for pointing me in the right direction.

I had similar issues with my LandCruiser. Stalling at idle and reduced power sounds familiar. Did you check the fuel pressure sensor? A bad sensor can trigger the check engine light and cause the fuel pump to behave erratically. It's like a conductor getting bad readings from the orchestra, and making the whole thing fall apart. Is your fuel efficiency worse than usual?
