LandCruiser Fuel Filter Heater Issue
Summary of the thread
A 2005 Toyota LandCruiser diesel is experiencing reduced power, poor response, higher fuel consumption, and rough idling, suspected to be due to a fuel filter heater issue. The problem may stem from a faulty cable or plug connection to the fuel filter heater. Checking and repairing these connections, potentially with professional assistance, resolved the issue, confirming a defective connector as the cause.

Thanks, I'll check the connections. Were your symptoms exactly the same? Did you fix it yourself, or did you need a mechanic?

Yes, the symptoms were the same. Since it's likely a bad cable or plug, and you've already looked at it, I'd suggest a workshop. Could be a deeper electrical issue.

Thanks for the advice. I checked the connections myself but couldn't fix it, so I took it to a shop. It was a defective connector, like you said. The repair was 95€, which is pretty good. Your help was really useful.

I had a similar issue with my LandCruiser. Check the cable and plug connection to the fuel filter heater. It's a common problem. Is the engine stalling?
