Thanks for the hint. Where exactly is the electric actuator located, and how can I check the wiring without causing more damage? I don't want to mess anything up further.

The actuator is usually near the fuel filler flap. Honestly, checking the wiring yourself might be tricky without the right tools. Based on my experience and the symptoms you described, I'd recommend taking it to a workshop. They can diagnose the electrical fault properly.

Alright, I appreciate the advice. I took it to a local workshop, and it turned out to be a defective linkage, just like you said. The repair cost me 210€. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction!

I had a similar problem with my LandCruiser a while back. Is it throwing any specific error codes? In my case, it turned out to be a faulty electric actuator controlling the fuel flap release. Check the wiring to the actuator, as it may be damaged.
