LandCruiser height control issues

I'm having a head-scratcher with my 2001 Toyota LandCruiser diesel. The height control system seems to be playing up. The warning light's on, and the low beams are either pointing too high or too low. It's sitting unevenly and the ride's become noticeably bumpy. I scanned it, and there's an error stored related to the height control. I'm suspecting the control rod on the sensor. Has anyone seen similar?

Yep, sounds familiar. Had almost the exact same thing happen on my Range Rover a few years back. The air suspension went bonkers. Are you hearing the compressor running more than usual or maybe not at all?

Good shout. I haven't paid particular attention to the compressor. Whereabouts was the issue on your Range Rover? Was it definitely the sensor?

Turned out to be a dodgy leveling sensor, and yes the compressor was running overtime trying to compensate. But given yours is throwing codes and riding rough, plus the headlight issue, I'd say get it properly diagnosed. It could be more than just the rod, maybe even the control module. A workshop with the right diagnostic gear will pinpoint it quick.

Appreciate the insight. Took it to a shop, and you were spot on. Defective control rod on the leveling sensor. Replaced it and reset the system. All in, cost me about 110€. Sorted now.
