LandCruiser oil pressure issue
Summary of the thread
A 2007 Toyota LandCruiser with a diesel engine experienced an issue where the oil pressure light intermittently turned on and off, accompanied by mechanical noises. The problem was suspected to be a failing oil pump. After consulting with others who had similar experiences, it was advised to have the vehicle checked by a mechanic. The diagnosis confirmed a faulty oil pump, which was replaced, resolving the issue.

Thanks. The oil pressure does fluctuate, mostly at lower speeds. I'm using the recommended oil. What was the fix for your issue? Was it the oil pump?

For me, it was about to fail. I'd get it checked by a mechanic to see how bad it is. With those noises, I wouldn't drive it until you sort out the oil pressure.

Thanks for the help. I took it to a mechanic, and they said it was a bad oil pump. The repair was 755€, including parts and labor. It's running fine now. Thanks again.

I have a LandCruiser with a similar diesel setup. Your symptoms sound like what I had last year. Does the oil pressure fluctuate, especially at lower engine speeds? What oil are you using?
