Latio Cylinder Pressure Fluctuation
Summary of the thread
A 2006 Nissan Latio with a diesel engine is experiencing cylinder pressure fluctuation, leading to higher fuel consumption, reduced engine power, and an illuminated check engine light. The issue was suspected to be a consequential error from another problem. After considering potential causes like the turbocharger, head gasket, fuel injectors, intake manifold, and camshaft, the problem was identified as a faulty sensor giving false readings, which was resolved without cost.

Thanks for the quick response. I suspected the turbocharger first, but pressures seemed fine. You mention the head gasket, fuel injectors, intake manifold and camshaft - did you have to check all of those?

Well, I didn't check them all myself. After fiddling with the turbo, I took it to a workshop. Turned out to be something else entirely. With those symptoms, it's tough to pinpoint the exact cause without proper diagnostics.

Understood. I appreciate the input. Turns out it was a faulty sensor giving false readings, no cost to repair. Thanks again.

I had similar symptoms in my Latio, though I didn't check cylinder pressures specifically. The check engine light and power loss are worrying. Did you check the turbocharger, head gasket, fuel injectors, intake manifold or camshaft?
