Latio diesel fuel filter heater issue
Summary of the thread
A 2011 Nissan Latio diesel was experiencing reduced power, sluggish response, increased fuel consumption, and rough idling, potentially due to a faulty fuel filter heater. The issue was suspected to be related to a dodgy cable or plug connection. After testing with a multimeter, it was confirmed that a corroded connector on the fuel filter heater was the cause. Cleaning and reconnecting the corroded connector resolved the problem, restoring the vehicle's performance.

Changed the filter about 10,000 km ago. Not saying it can't be that, but I'm leaning towards electrical, given the stored error. Zeroing in on that heater circuit. Could a simple multimeter test of the plug confirm a broken heater?

Electrical issues are a pain. I'm not the best with electrics. A multimeter might work, but maybe taking it to a workshop is the best bet? They'll have the right tools and know-how to diagnose it properly.

Ended up being exactly as I suspected: a corroded connector on the fuel filter heater. Multimeter confirmed it. Cleaned it and reconnected, and the error's gone, and she's running great again. Cost me 95€ for the connector and some contact cleaner.

Interesting. Reduced power and rough idling, eh? Could be a few things, not just the fuel filter heater. Have you tried just replacing the fuel filter itself? Is it hard to get to on the Latio?
