Latio Overheating Bypass Valve

I'm having trouble with my 2007 Nissan Latio diesel. It has about 23771 km. I think the bypass valve is bad because I'm getting an error and the engine is overheating. Could this be caused by something else?

I drive a Latio too, and that overheating sounds familiar! I had a similar error code pop up, along with the engine getting way too hot. Have you checked for any coolant leaks around the air intake? A small leak there can sometimes cause those bypass valve errors and the overheating.

Thanks! I'll check the air intake for leaks. Can you tell me more about what happened with yours? Did the coolant leak mess up the bypass valve directly, or did it cause other problems that triggered the error?

In my case, it was a small leak near the air intake manifold. The coolant wasn't directly hitting the bypass valve, but the system was definitely registering the issue, throwing the same code and causing the overheating. Honestly, I'd take it to a workshop to be sure, they'll be able to diagnose it properly.

Thanks for the tip about the coolant leak near the air intake. I took it to a workshop, and the bypass valve error was a secondary issue. They found the real problem and fixed it. The repair cost was 0€.
