Fuel efficiency does seem a bit worse than before. I haven't tried forcing a regeneration myself; I'm not even sure how to do that on this model. What do you suggest?

On the Peugeot, regeneration rarely solved it permanently, usually the light came back on after a few miles. Given the reduced power and smoke, it might be beyond a simple fix. I'd suggest getting it checked out by a workshop that specializes in exhaust systems and diesel filters. Better safe than sorry, especially with modern diesel engines being so sensitive.

Okay, I appreciate the advice. I'll book an appointment with a trusted mechanic. They confirmed that the diesel particulate filter is indeed defective, and the repair is estimated at 1550€. Thanks again for pointing me in the right direction!

Sounds familiar. I had almost the exact same symptoms with my old Peugeot 308. Reduced power and smoke are classic signs of DPF issues. Have you noticed any changes in fuel efficiency? Have you tried forcing a regeneration, or had a vehicle inspection?
