Latitude fuel volume regulator malfunction
Summary of the thread
A 2013 Renault Latitude with a gasoline engine is experiencing a check engine light, stalling when idling, and reduced engine power. The OBD scan indicates a fuel volume regulator malfunction. The issue is likely linked to a defective high-pressure fuel pump, which interacts with the regulator. The recommended solution is to have the vehicle inspected and repaired by a professional, as confirmed by a workshop diagnosis.

Good point about the sensors! I haven't specifically checked individual sensor readings, just pulled the generic OBD code. Which specific sensors should I be focusing on to diagnose this fuel volume regulator issue? Is there any way to test them without specialized tools?

Okay, so the OBD points to the regulator itself. If the light is on and the engine is acting like that consistently, and given your mileage, it's probably the high pressure fuel pump failing, which is interacting with the regulator. Honestly, I'd get it to a workshop, as fuel systems are tricky and you don't want to mess that up. It could get expensive quick!

Thanks for the advice! You were spot on – took it to the shop and they confirmed the high-pressure pump was indeed defective, which was causing the fuel volume regulator issues. Ended up costing me around 1510€ for the repair. Appreciate the help!

Whoa, that sounds rough! A faulty fuel volume regulator could definitely mess with your fuel economy and cause rough idling. Have you checked any of the related sensors? It could be a sensor giving a bad reading to the regulator, making it act up. Are there any other symptoms, like trouble starting?
